Champion Vet - Services

Here are some of the services than CHAMPIONVET.com can provide for you and your pet.
Read on, and you might find we can offer more than you expect!

1. DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT
By experienced and caring vets who all own pets that they love! Our vets take great care to make a thorough clinical examination of your pet and to take a thorough history from you. In this way we can often pick up the cause of your animal's problem or diagnose a problem you didn't realize was developing. In this way, effective treatment can be initiated and often expensive tests can be avoided.

2. VALUABLE ROUTINE HEALTH CARE AND VACCINATIONS
Such as vaccinations against major infectious diseases combined with the all important annual "MOT" to find any problems before they become serious. We keep up to date with the latest research and scientific opinions to provide the most effective vaccinations at the correct time.

3. PARASITE CONTROL
We provide important advice on flea control and worming against internal parasites that can harm your animals, your kids and yourselves. All these treatments when purchased from us come with free veterinary advice on what to use and when, based on our detailed knowledge of the lifecycles of the parasites you need to kill. The products we are able to supply are usually far more up-to-date and effective than similar priced pet-shop products and thus provide greater value for money.

4. DIETARY ADVICE
Such as weight-loss programmes, how to feed puppies for their optimum growth and the best way to feed the elderly pet. Feeding animals according to their "life stage" and according to any particular condition they may have can greatly enhance their welfare, happiness and lifespan.

5. DENTAL CARE
Most pet animals above the age of six require some sort of dental care to prevent pain, infection and bad breath! Your vet is the best person to examine your pet's mouth for hidden dental disease and to recommend effective treatment. We use a machine to scale and polish teeth, just like your own dentist does, and all extractions or remedial work are carried out painlessly under general anaesthetic. Don't let your pet suffer in silence!

6. A LABORATORY WITHIN THE SURGERY
To help us diagnose internal diseases quickly without the delay of having to send samples away to a laboratory elsewhere. We are able to analyze your animal's blood within an hour to diagnose blood abnormalities, organ disease and many other conditions and provide quick and effective treatment. Try getting results back so quickly at your GP! (We subscribe to an in-house quality control scheme to ascertain that the results we general are always accurate and reliable.)

7. X-RAY AND ULTRASOUND MACHINES
To enable us to "have a look inside", which is essential to diagnose many diseases and for pregnancy and reproductive scanning. You can often remain with your pet whilst he is receives an ultrasound scan, for his reassurance and your interest! Nothing is more exciting than seeing your bitch's unborn puppies at 4 weeks of age! We cannot let you stay with your pet during x-rays (for Health and Safety reasons) but can usually have results to you within 3 hours.

8. ADVICE AND HELP ON BREEDING YOUR PET
Let us be of help to you from first choosing a mate for your pet to the care of the newborns and everything else in-between. Mating, pregnancy and the birth process can be very daunting to inexperienced owners and experienced breeders alike. We usually like to know when one of our patients are due to go into labour, so we can prepare to be on hand should the need arise. We have blood tests and ultrasound at hand to help with all stages of the reproductive cycle.

9. PURPOSE-BUILT OPERATING THEATRE
We can boast very safe modern anaesthetics and dedicated recovery and "critical care" rooms to allow your pet to recover from surgery in comfort and safety. With strict attention to detail, coupled with the experience of our veterinary and nursing staff, we offer an extremely save environment for your pets anaesthetic and recovery.

10. WE SELL MOST BRANDS OF PET FOODS, TOYS, LEADS AND OTHER ACCESSORIES FOR YOU CONVENIENCE AT "PET SUPERSTORE" PRICES
Check out our prices! Obviously we don't have the storage space of a large pet superstore - but our wholesalers do! With daily deliveries from our wholesalers, if we don't have what you want, we can soon get it!

11. 24-HOUR EMERGENCY COVER
For your peace of mind during the "wee hours" we provide a 24/7/365 emergency service through Vets Now Ltd., a veterinary hospital in Glasgow specializing in emergency care out of normal hours. All you need to do is call our surgery number and if we are not there you will be put through to the service. We pay for them to be there, all you have to do is pay for the treatment you receive at the time. (Our vets therefore do no night work and are fresh to provide the highest level of care during the day.)
